Fort Myers Police Department says the state attorney’s office will not charge three of its police officers who were involved in a fight that took place at a Cape Coral bar in February.

On Feb. 20, an incident occurred at Dixie Roadhouse in downtown Cape Coral between three off-duty FMPD officers and a civilian.

According to FMPD, the police department will now open an internal affairs investigation of the three officers to determine if they violated department policy during this incident.

FMPD says there will be no further comment pending the outcome of the internal investigation. And the officers have returned to duty per the FMPD standard operating procedures.
