The depression is moving toward the northeast near 23 mph (37 km/h) and this motion is generally expected to continue today into tonight. Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1004 mb (29.65 inches). RAINFALL: Heavy rainfall of 2 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts, is expected across portions of the lower and mid Mississippi Valley into the Great Lakes today into Wednesday and over the Northeast Wednesday into Wednesday night.
